What is Pollexy?
Pollexy is a virtual assistant specifically meant to provide assistance for people with special needs.
Is there a video where I can see Pollexy?
Why yes there is . . . and more than one, actually.
This is the original video, wonderfully and thoughtfully produced by the Molly Strange,Program Manager of the Media Production team at AWS.
And there’s a second video produced when I presented Pollexy at the London Tech Summit in 2017.
And then the most recent was in Las Vegas at re:Invent 2018, and was recorded/posted by someone with a mobile phone.
Is Pollexy an Amazon product?
No, not at all. It’s based on, and showcases AWS technology, but this is not an actual product
Do you still personally use Pollexy?
Yes and no. I use much of the technology Pollexy was based on, but not as Pollexy was originally written.
So are you actively working on Pollexy?
No. I am working on care automation solutions using AWS technologies, but I’ve retired Pollexy for now as a specific solution. I’ll be blogging about my current approach and vision over the next year.
But I thought Pollexy was going to change the world. What happened?
Nothing. I’m working on, and currently using some really cool technology with Calvin that I will blog about soon. My goal is to have a huge impact on care automation technology, not have my name attached to a specific product. This is about impacting caregivers and people with special needs, not promoting myself.
